Want to watch a new Moana movie on Disney Plus? The sequel to the 2016 animated hit will drift onto the streaming service in March, Disney announced Tuesday.
Moana 2 follows its Polynesian heroine on a new adventure three years after the first film. Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson reprise their voice roles as the titular chief’s daughter and the demigod Maui, who reunite after Moana gets “an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors,” according to a Disney synopsis. You’ll want to stick around for one midcredits scene.Â
Originally planned as a TV series, Moana 2 premiered in theaters on Nov. 27. Separately, a live-action remake of the first Moana, starring Johnson and newcomer Catherine Laga’aia, has a 2026 release date. To meet Moana’s younger sister, Simea, and dive into another seafaring story, here are details on Moana 2’s Disney Plus drop.
