Morgan Rogers says he is hoping to “do some damage on the pitch” with new Aston Villa team-mate Marcus Rashford.
Rashford dramatically joined Villa on loan from Manchester United late in the January transfer window after a public falling out with Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim.
The England forward, who has the option to sign permently for £40million in the summer, will be hoping for a new lease of life in Birmingham as he looks to put a difficult few years at Old Trafford behind him.
And Rogers, who has enjoyed an explosive 12 months since his move to Villa a year ago, has said he has seen the 27-year-old as something of a role model in the past and is confident his new-team-mate will be a success at Villa Park.
Asked about his new team-mate during an interview with Sky Sports, Rogers said: “His talent and quality, everyone’s seen it for a number of years now. To be able to play with him is something I’m thoroughly looking forward to.
“When I was coming up, he was starting to be the guy in England and he’s someone I looked up to as a player in a similar position that you want to try and be one day.
“Hopefully we can cause some damage on the pitch and get Villa where we want to get them.”

Rogers: ‘Villa doing things in CL people don’t expect’
Rogers was playing in the Championship for Middlesbrough just over a year ago but 12 months on, the now England international is looking ahead to the Champions League last 16 after his stunning hat-trick against Celtic secured Villa’s place last week.
Speaking about his first Champions League experience, the 22-year-old said: “I’ve loved it. A lot of us have experienced it for the first time together. We used the experiences of the manager and players that have played in it which helped.
“The excitement and buzz of it made us perform at our best and we’ve probably been at our best this season in the Champions League, especially at home.
“That feeling that we’ve created at the stadium, we’ve played some big teams and being able to get results there, it gives us confidence going forward and we’ve competed.
“We couldn’t just be there to make up the numbers, so to go and do what we’ve done is something that we’re used to – doing stuff that people probably don’t expect.”
