Scotland’s time in the top tier of the Nations League could be brought to an end on Friday when they face Croatia at Hampden.
The Tartan Army have just a single point from their four games so far and will be relegated if they lose and Poland avoid defeat against Portugal, or if they draw and the Poles win.
Croatia, meanwhile, are closing in on a place in the Nations League quarter-finals, which they will secure if they win and Poland are unable to win in Lisbon.
Despite an encouraging draw with Portugal last month, Steve Clarke’s men are currently on an eight-game winless streak which includes a dismal Euro 2024 group-stage campaign.
