Investing.com — Netflix Inc (NASDAQ:)Â drew a record audience for its NFL debut, with over 24 million U.S. viewers tuning into each of the two Christmas Day games, Nielsen data showed.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ win over the Pittsburgh Steelers attracted 24.1 million viewers, while the Baltimore Ravens’ victory against the Houston Texans, featuring a Beyoncé halftime show, averaged 24.3 million.
Most viewers streamed via Netflix, with smaller audiences watching on local TV stations in the teams’ markets or on the NFL+ service. The previous NFL streaming record was 23 million on Peacock during a January playoff game between the Chiefs and Miami Dolphins.
Netflix’s broadcast avoided the technical glitches that marred its recent coverage of a Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing event.
