O.J. Simpson’s Bodyguard Claims He Confessed To Killing Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman
Bodyguard Claims to Hold Bombshell Recording
O.J. Simpson’s former bodyguard, Iroc Avelli, alleged he possessed a thumb drive containing a recording of the disgraced football star confessing to the infamous 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. According to RadarOnline.com, police in Minnesota seized the device during an unrelated investigation involving Avelli in 2022, but a recent search confirmed no confession was found on the recording.
Allegations and Legal Battles
Authorities were tipped off earlier this year when an LAPD detective revealed that Avelli and his attorney claimed Simpson’s confession was on one of the drives seized during Avelli’s arrest. However, after obtaining the device with a new warrant, police determined the recording did not contain an admission of guilt. Avelli and his lawyer have since attempted to recover the seized items through legal action, but a judge denied their motion.
Simpson’s Legacy of Legal Woes
Although Simpson was acquitted of the murders in 1994, a civil court found him liable in 1997 and ordered him to pay $33.5 million in damages to the victims’ families. With unpaid debts ballooning to over $100 million, Simpson’s estate remains entangled in financial strife. Malcolm LaVergne, Simpson’s attorney and executor of his estate, has pledged to prevent Nicole and Goldman’s families from collecting any of the estate’s proceeds.
Simpson’s Death and Lingering Questions
Simpson passed away in April 2024 from prostate cancer, leaving behind unresolved legal and financial battles. While the alleged confession initially reignited public interest, the lack of evidence has quelled speculation. The debate over Simpson’s legacy continues, as his estate struggles to address mounting debts and legal claims.
