Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou says he can finally see the end of his team’s injury crisis as key players begin to return.
Cristian Romero was spotted in training on Thursday and Rodrigo Bentancur made his return against Hoffenheim in the Europa League after being out with a concussion.
Micky van de Ven is expected back next week, while Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario should be available in early February.
Spurs have been down to the barebones in recent weeks, having just 14 senior players available for their game on Thursday night.
And while there has been another big blow with the loss of Dominic Solanke, Postecoglou is remaining positive that he can get his players back and make some additions before the transfer window closes.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash with Leicester, he said: “We should have light at the end of the tunnel in a couple of weeks, it’s not as dire but at the same time there’s always a possibility that before those guys come back we might lose a couple of these guys [current players in form].
“That’s always the challenging bit, that’s what we’re going through.

“It’s been two months of hard grind for the players, just trying to support them as much as we can. Our schedule is not going to ease up at all.
“The resilience and the determination of the players to get out there and perform is a fantastic thing for me to witness, couldn’t be more proud of them.
“We will benefit from the growth of our younger players, but we have to be careful with them, we can’t ask 18-year-olds to keep dipping in and out.
“I thought Archie [Gray] out of position was great, Lucas [Bergvall] worked his socks off for the time and Mikey [Moore] got an assist.
“So there’s no doubt we will get benefit from these players for many years to come, they’ve had a tough start to their careers. I think it’s hugely positive.”
On transfers, he added: “All those things are known, nothing’s changed in the last 24 hours.
“We knew with Dom probably a few days back, I had a press conference in the meantime, so all these things are known.”
