Many reality TV personalities evacuated Los Angeles amid the ongoing wildfires that started in the Pacific Palisades on Tuesday, January 7.

“My heart goes out to those impacted by the fires here in L.A. County,” former Bachelorette Katie Thurston wrote via Instagram Story on Wednesday, January 8. “Waking up this morning and seeing all the updates breaks my heart. I couldn’t sleep this morning hearing the constant emergency vehicles and strong winds and realizing just 10 miles away, destruction is happening.”

She captioned a follow-up post, “This is f—ing scary.”

Within hours, Thurston, 34, packed a go-bag and waited to find out whether she and fiancé Jeff Arcuri needed to evacuate. The New York-based couple were in town for one of Arcuri’s comedy shows and ultimately left home later on Wednesday night.

The Hills alums lost the home they share with young sons Gunner and Ryker to the blaze after they had already left the L.A. city limits.

“The craziest thing about packing for a fire [is] your brain just freaks out,” Montag, 38, said in a Wednesday TikTok video. “It’s so overwhelming packing up a house. I mean, I only have two pairs of jeans, two shirts. I got so much more clothes for the kids. I’m like, ‘Why didn’t I grab more?’ Thankfully, I grabbed anything and that’s such a blessing and the main thing is that we’re safe.”

Pratt’s parents also learned their home was leveled in the devastating fires, which they watched via security footage after their own evacuation.

The Dancing With the Stars host, 36, revealed via her Instagram Stories late on Wednesday that a fire had broken out “right near [her] house.” She and her dog, Sunny, got in a car and started driving out of the city.

“The reason I say evacuate now, even if it’s not close to you if you have somewhere to go because there’s traffic and you’re gonna be stuck in traffic,” Hough explained in a video. “That is not good. So, everybody please be safe and send prayers to all the first responders and firefighters.”

Bozoma Saint John

Saint John shared on Thursday, January 8, that she lost her home in the Los Angeles wildfires.

“This is the house I wanted. The house I prayed for. The house I worked in blood, sweat and tears for. The house that I put a key pad instead of a key hole in the front door because I wanted all my family and friends to have a code and use the house whenever they wanted,” she wrote via Instagram. “This is the house where I found peace after battling with racist neighbors and a community that made me have to buy it in a trust within a trust so no one would know that widowed, single Black woman with a teenager was buying on the exclusively-held beach.”

Alongside her message, Saint John shared a series of images and clips from inside the house.

“This was my EFF YOU I’m here house. The house that I built a movie room dedicated to my sister so she could see her films in her own sanctuary,” she wrote. “This is the house where I finally felt like I could choose to spend time… when I wanted to and how I wanted to.”

She continued, “It is gone. This is an unimaginable loss. I grieve with the rest of Los Angeles as it burns… and even though I’ve found even words to write here, there’s nothing that I could say in this moment to describe this feeling. I ask for your prayer for Lael and I. God bless you.”
