Christine Brown‘s wedding to David Woolley might have been a joyous occasion for her, but her ex-husband, Kody Brown, and his remaining wife, Robyn Brown, are not precisely cheering her on.

As seen in recent episodes of “Sister Wives,” the pair’s reaction to her October 2023 nuptials has added an awkward twist to the celebrations.

Christine Brown’s departure from her polygamous marriage in 2021 marked a turning point for the Brown family, with tensions flaring as she openly embraced monogamy. 

The drama unfolds as TLC’s  “Sister Wives” delves into the aftermath of Christine’s wedding to Woolley. In a short clip of the episode shared by TLC, Kody broke the ice by revealing how he learned about the now-married couple’s plans.

“I knew David and Christine were going to get married because I saw a wedding announcement at my sister’s house,” he said, attempting to sound casual, adding, “I’m really fine. I’m resolved with it.”

Before the 56-year-old could veer into less supportive territory, Robyn swooped in with a sharp dose of diplomacy. “Aren’t we just so happy for them? We’re just so happy for them” she asked sarcastically, cutting off her husband mid-sentence.

Despite the 46-year-old’s insistence on keeping things upbeat in the short Instagram clip, Kody’s laugh suggested his feelings were more complicated. Yet, he reluctantly agreed, “Yes.”

Kody’s laughter and Robyn’s demeanor struck a nerve with viewers, many of whom accused the pair of being insincere. The comment section of the post erupted with thoughts about their reactions.

“Every word dripping with disdain,” one person noted, while another chimed in, “Robyn is so sarcastic here.” The feedback was blunt, with one commenter recalling Robyn’s past complaints about being ostracized from the family:

“What a load Robyn. She just sat in the other interview and whined about being outcasts voted off the island. Not voted off Robyn, you got in your own boat, did your own thing and when you decided you wanted to come back to the island no one wanted to help you tie up. Why would ANYONE think Kody would be at Christine’s wedding? Clueless.” 

Some also pointed out Kody’s laugh, describing it as an attempt to mask deeper emotions. “That laugh isn’t ordinary, he is hurting and trying to cover it up with fake laughter,” one user commented.

Ultimately, many viewers expressed the opinion that Kody and Robyn needed to move on from the past. This netizen summed it up, stating, “Let it go, let it go. You chose Robyn now move on!”

While her marriage may have added to the Brown family drama, Christine’s shift from polygamy to monogamy also led to unexpected changes, one of which she shared with her followers per The Blast.

In December 2023, the mother-of-six posted a stunning photo of herself in a pink blouse, standing against a beautiful rocky backdrop, exuding confidence and contentment.

The reality TV star shared a life-changing revelation, admitting that her initial fears about losing her independence in a monogamous relationship were unfounded.

“I was always concerned I would lose my independence in monogamy. I realized the other day, being married to the right person (David for me!) that I am more independent than I ever was!” she wrote.  

She ended her statement with hashtags, “#strongwoman#independent#strongerthanever #blessed,” emphasizing her newfound strength.

While many admired her looks and expressed their support, those who have been following Christine for a while know that her thoughts on polygamy and the message in her caption were not new.

The 52-year-old, who grew up in a polygamous family and became Kody Brown’s third wife in 1994, has long been open about her dissatisfaction with the arrangement. 

In a candid conversation with her former sister wife, Janelle Brown, she expressed her belief that polygamy was not an ideal family structure for her. 

“I think if people wanna live [plural marriage], fine. But I just, to be honest with you, I don’t see it as a great family structure, and I really have a hard time with it, but I think once a guy finds the love of his life, the other women are sc—,” she shared.

Christine noted that her breaking point finally came when Kody reportedly distanced himself from her children. 

Despite the drama her marriage brought, Christine’s new life with Woolley has been nothing short of a fairytale, and their honeymoon was proof of that. 

After announcing their relationship on Valentine’s Day and getting engaged just two months later, the couple tied the knot in a breathtaking ceremony at Moab, Utah’s Red Cliffs Lodge. 

Following their wedding, lovebirds embarked on a dreamy honeymoon, starting with Disneyland and then traveling to a picturesque oceanfront cabin. Christine shared stunning snapshots of their adventure, including a romantic dinner with a perfect ocean view.

In one photo, David flashed a goofy grin while leaning on a large rock, while Christine looked happy in a floral sleeveless blouse and short shorts. The final picture of the couple in an intimate embrace during sunset further captured their joy.

While Kody and Robyn Brown’s strained reactions to Christine’s wedding might be awkward, it is clear that Christine is thriving in her new chapter.
