Here’s the post:
Rohit Sharma and Ritika Sajdeh, who were already parents of a daughter named Samaira, extended their family, and it was because of this that the India National Cricket Team skipper missed the first Test. The match between the two teams took place at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
In his absence, Jasprit Bumrah captained the India National Cricket Team and did a terrific job as the captain of the team. Under his leadership, the team won the opening match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 by a massive margin of 295 runs.
Rohit Sharma joined the team on Day 4 of the first Test and since then has been training with the team. The India National Cricket Team skipper is all set to return to the team for the second game against the Australia National Cricket Team, which will be taking place in Adelaide from 6th December.
Rohit Sharma walked out to bat at No.4 in the ongoing game against Australia’s Prime Minister’s XI
The question now remains on the batting position of the India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit. In the ongoing game against Australia’s Prime Minister’s XI, the senior batter didn’t come to open the innings and allowed KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal to take the opening spots.
Rohit walked out to bat at No.4 and didn’t have a great outing with the bat. The India National Cricket Team skipper got out for 3 runs as he chased the fifth stump ball and was caught in the slips as he went to play the drive and was back in the hut after playing 11 games.
Rohit Sharma most likely to bat in the middle order in the second Test against Australia in Adelaide
Rohit not opening the innings indicates that the India National Cricket Team skipper might bat in the middle order in the second Test. This is because KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal played a massive role in the first game as the openers.
KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal were exceptional with the bat in the first Test. After failing in the first innings, the duo came up with a rollicking effort and slammed a 201-run partnership in the second innings, which is best by the Indian opening pair in Australia. It remains to be seen if they carry on the same in the next game.
