Ryan Reynolds shared a selfie with wife Blake Lively amid her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
Reynolds, 48, showed off photos from his recent trip to Wrexham via Instagram Stories on Monday, February 3. In one snap, the actor sat alongside the tombstone of Yale University founder Elihu Yale, which was set to the song “Hook” by Blues Traveler.
A second image showed Reynolds standing with his arm around Lively, 37. The couple showed off big smiles as they posed for the photo in the Welsh city. (Reynolds and fellow actor Rob McElhenney own the Wrexham Football Club in Wales.)
Reynolds’ post with Lively was set to “Only Wanna Be With You” by Hootie & The Blowfish.
The couple’s selfie comes after Us Weekly reported an update on Monday regarding how Lively and Reynolds are coping amid their ongoing legal drama.
“Blake is very stressed, upset and just wants all of this to be done,” a source told Us of the Gossip Girl alum. Her husband, meanwhile, “has been consoling” Lively as more details continue to emerge.
Reynolds is “more confident that the truth will prevail in court,” the insider added, noting that the couple has embarked on a “family beach vacation.” (Lively and Reynolds, who married in 2012, share four kids: daughters James, 10, Inez, 8, and Betty, 5, and son Olin, 2.)
Reports regarding Lively’s rift with It Ends With Us costar Baldoni, 41, first emerged in August 2024. The actors stayed quiet about any drama behind the scenes until Lively filed a complaint against Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios production company in December 2024, alleging that she was sexually harassed while on set. The complaint and details of the alleged misconduct were initially published by The New York Times and has since been obtained by Us.
Baldoni has continued to vehemently deny all accusations against him, and later that same month he filed a $250 million lawsuit against the newspaper (and nine other plaintiffs) following their coverage of Lively’s accusations. (The New York Times told Us that they planned to “vigorously defend against the lawsuit.”)
Lively subsequently filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in a New York federal court, which mirrored her prior complaint, alleging sexual harassment, a breach of contract, infliction of emotional distress and an invasion of privacy and lost wages.
Baldoni filed another lawsuit in January for $400 million against Lively, Reynolds and her publicist Leslie Sloane. The It Ends With Us star and director accused them of extortion, defamation and false light invasion of privacy, among other claims, in the court docs.
Both Baldoni and Lively’s lawsuits are set to go to trial in March 2026. However, federal judge Lewis J. Liman stated in a hearing held on Monday that the trial date could be moved up if the suits continue to be “litigated in the press.”
Both Lively and Baldoni’s respective attorneys released statements to Us following Monday’s hearing, revealing they were happy with how things went in court.
“We are pleased with the result of today’s hearing and eager to move forward immediately with discovery in this case,” Lively’s reps shared in a statement. “The Court granted our request that all attorneys in the matter actually follow the rule of law and not make any statements that could prejudice a jury. This case deals with serious allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation. We will hold the defendants accountable, and we are confident that once all the evidence is submitted in this matter, Ms. Lively will prevail.”
Baldoni’s team noted that he is “devastated” and hopes to “move the case along as quickly as possible.”
“We just couldn’t be more pleased with how the case was handled today, how it was managed,” their statement continued. “We’re going to move as quickly as we possibly can and prove our innocence, in a world where sometimes people judge you before they give you a chance. And we’re going to change that.”
