Pakistan National Cricket Team suffered a massive blow amid the second Test against the South Africa National Cricket Team. Young opening batter Saim Ayub has been ruled out not only for the ongoing game but the next six weeks of cricketing action.
Pakistan National Cricket Team opening batter Saim Ayub faced a horrific injury during day 1 of the ongoing second Test against the South Africa National Cricket Team. The last game of the two-match series between the teams is taking place at the Newlands in Cape Town.

The scans, however, revealed that Ayub had fractured his ankle and wouldn’t be taking part any further in the match. The batter also will be out of action for around 6 weeks, meaning that he might miss the tri-series against the New Zealand National Cricket Team and the South Africa National Cricket Team.
Saim will not participate further in the Test, he will remain with the team and travel back to Pakistan with the squad after the match concludes – PCB statement
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the injury of Ayub, saying that he will miss the action for six weeks. The governing body confirmed that the batter will stay with the team and travel back to Pakistan with the squad after the match concludes. The statement read:
“Pakistan opener Saim Ayub has been ruled out of competitive cricket for up to six weeks due to a right ankle fracture sustained while fielding on the opening day of the second men’s cricket Test against South Africa at Newlands on Friday.
“An MRI conducted Friday afternoon confirmed the fracture, which has been immobilised in an Ankle Medical Moon Boot. Although Saim will not participate further in the Test, he will remain with the team and travel back to Pakistan with the squad after the match concludes.”

The absence of Saim Ayub will leave a massive void in the Pakistan National Cricket Team, as the opening batter has been in a great run of form. He looked in great form with the bat in the ODI series and, after that, looked in decent touch with the bat in the first Test.
Saim Ayub scored 14 runs in the first innings and then followed it up with the score of 27 runs in the second innings. The opening batter himself would be gutted with the way he has been ruled out. The ongoing match will be a difficult one for Pakistan.
