Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’s Mom Vows To Defend His Honor

Stephen “tWitch” Boss‘s mom, Connie Boss Alexander, has released a statement expressing her family’s commitment to defending his honor.

A day before Connie’s statement, Holker, who has received much criticism since the interview was published, made a post on Instagram sharing her reason for writing a memoir.

On Thursday, tWitch’s mom, Connie, took to Instagram to share a statement about how she and her family feel about Holker’s recent revelations.

“Our family is absolutely appalled by the misleading and hurtful claims made about my son, Stephen Boss,” the statement began. “The recent publications spreading untruths about Stephen have crossed every line of decency.”

Connie vowed not to let the accusations against tWitch “go unanswered” and promised that his family would not let his name and legacy be tarnished.

She said, “We will not stand by while his name and legacy are tarnished. He doesn’t deserve this, and the kids don’t deserve this.”

In the second part of her statement, Connie revealed that she had remained behind the scenes after her son’s death to “protect” her family.

She said, “For the last two years, I have remained quiet and away from the public eye to protect my family. My primary focus has been on healing and attempting to remain connected to my grandchildren.”

Connie said she had to break her silence after reading the “dreadful” claims about tWitch and expressed her family’s resolve to defend “his honor.”

“But when I read these dreadful claims about my baby, our beloved Stephen, I realized I could not stay silent any longer,” she said before concluding, “Our family will ensure his name and memory are protected, and we are committed to defending his honor.”

Many fans who reacted to Stephen “tWitch” Boss’s mother’s statement commended her for speaking out after Holker’s interview and revelations about the late pro dancer.

Digital creator Katie Paulson commented, “Standing with you through this all. You did what you thought was right by trying to keep the peace. And she [Holker] took your kindness for weakness.”

Paulson added, “Stephen deserves dignity in death. I am sure this is heartbreaking for you to do, but his kids deserve to know that his family never stopped fighting for him and for them. So many of us have your back and are lifting you up as you fight for justice.”

A fan commented, “When a wife makes false statements makes my mind wonder what really happened to him.”

A second fan wrote, “I don’t understand her [Holker’s] need to come out and do this now. It’s been 2 years. Heal in peace.”

Dancer and actress Lauren Gottlieb expressed support for Connie, writing, “We are all standing with you.”

Television producer Andy Lassner also wrote, “Sending you so much love.”

Connie’s statement comes a day after Holker penned a lengthy message to tWitch’s fans, family, and friends to explain why she wrote a book.

She stated, “I want to be clear that my only intention in writing the book is to share my own story as well as part of my life with Stephen to help other people.”

Holker hoped people would have a different perspective after reading the book and see that she intends to “celebrate the love and life I shared with Stephen and our three beautiful children, and also the more complex aspects of both of our lives.”

She also hoped to “help someone else who might see themselves or a loved one in Stephen” to catch some of the red flags she missed “before it’s too late.”

Holker revealed that she had spent the last two years speaking to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and other organizations to learn more about mental health issues so she “can share warning signs with others.”

She also promised that the proceeds from her memoir, “This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light,” which is set for release on February 4, would go into funding her mental health-focused foundation, Move with Kindness, which she founded in tWitch’s honor.

After PEOPLE Magazine published an interview with Holker, she faced backlash on social media.

Candiace Dillard of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” fame criticized Holker for revealing details about her late husband, questioning her protection of his legacy and suggesting that a Black-owned outlet would have handled it better.

tWitch’s cousin, Darielle, accused Holker of tarnishing his legacy and restricting family access, while former “So You Think You Can Dance” contestant Courtney Ann Platt called her memoir “tacky” and “opportunistic.”

tWitch’s brother, Dré Rose, also expressed concerns over limited family communication and involvement with his children.
