Suryakumar Yadav wins hearts, hands over trophy to Dhruv Jurel, Harshit Rana after crushing England


India National Cricket Team skipper Suryakumar Yadav came up with the heartwarming gesture after the last game of the five-match T20I series against England National Cricket Team. The match took place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.

India National Cricket Team had a dominating outing in the game as they were all over the England National Cricket Team with the bat and ball. Having won the series already after the 4th game, Suryakumar Yadav and his team took their game to the next level in the 5th match.

Asked to bat first, India had a solid start with the bat as Sanju Samson (16) along with Abhishek Sharma (135) added 21 runs inside two overs. But after the opening wicket, it was all about Abhishek as he slammed a brutal century and registered the highest individual score for India in T20Is.

The left-hander slammed England bowlers all over the park and stole all the limelight. He was supported well by Tilak Varma (24) first, who added 115 runs partnership with the opening batter to put the Jos Buttler-led on the backfoot.

After Tilak got out, Shivam Dube (30) came up with a brutal hand as well and dominated the 37-run partnership with Abhishek. Based on the collective effort with the bat, the India National Cricket Team posted a massive total of 247 for nine.

In the chase, India National Cricket Team bowlers oozed their class as England National Cricket Team had a forgettable outing with the bat as they got all out for just 97 runs. Opening batter Phil Salt (55) slammed a brutal half-century but hardly got any support from the other end as Indian bowlers were all over batters.

Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers for the India National Cricket Team as he picked three wickets while Varun Chakravarthy, Shivam Dube, and Abhishek Sharma picked two wickets each as Suryakumar Yadav-led side won the game by 150 runs.

After the win, during the trophy collection ceremony, India National Cricket Team skipper Suryakumar Yadav won the hearts of many. He collected the trophy and handed it to Harshit Rana and Dhruv Jurel, who were the new entrants to the team.

India National Cricket Team won the five-match T20I series against England National Cricket Team by the margin of 4-1. The focus now shifts towards the three-match ODI series between the teams, which will begin on 6th February in Nagpur. The series will be the last for the team ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will begin on the 19th of this month.
