Taylor Swift Expands Rhode Island Home To ‘Raise A Family’ With Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift‘s romance with Travis Kelce is getting stronger. According to reports, the singer is renovating her $17 million Rhode Island mansion to make it a future family home with the NFL star.

The Plans will cost over $1.7 million and include a new bedroom suite, lounge, kitchen remodel and extra bedroom.

Travis Kelce also recently shared how his supportive relationship with Taylor Swifth strengthens his football career.

According to the New York Post, Swift is giving her lavish Rhode Island estate a major transformation, with plans to turn it into a future family home with her boyfriend, Kelce.

Initially reported by the Providence Journal, Swift is investing $1.7 million in extensive renovations of the $17 million Watch Hill property. The move has been confirmed thanks to the building permits and zoning records.

The renovation plans include a 400-square-foot expansion to create a luxurious new bedroom suite and a comfortable lounge space within the sprawling 11,000-square-foot seaside property.

Swift is also redesigning the kitchen and adding an additional bedroom to the main house.

The project’s permits were discreetly submitted in late November and early December 2024, and construction was approved to continue through the end of 2025.

An insider shared with the news outlet that the “Cardigan” singer envisions this property as “her main home base and where she and Kelce will hopefully raise a family one day.”

Swift’s sprawling Rhode Island estate, set on over five acres of impeccably landscaped grounds, has long served as her favorite escape.

The property boasts a vast patio, a pool house, and an exclusive 700-foot stretch of private beach, offering the perfect coastal retreat.

The multiple Grammy award winner was last spotted at the Watch Hill mansion in August 2024, relaxing with boyfriend Kelce and close friends after concluding the European leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour.

Although she skipped her iconic Fourth of July celebration this year due to tour obligations, she later hosted an intimate gathering in August to make up for it.

Kelce isn’t the only notable guest to enjoy Swift’s seaside sanctuary. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, recently joined the couple for a beachside getaway.

In previous years, Swift’s high-profile exes, Tom Hiddleston, Calvin Harris, and Joe Jonas, have also spent time at the estate, along with her famous friends like Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, and Cara Delevingne.

Over the summer, Blake Lively even celebrated her birthday at the beachfront property.

Swift purchased her stunning eight-bedroom, ten-bathroom Rhode Island estate in 2013 when she was just 23 years old.

Remarkably, she paid the full $17.75 million price in a single wire transfer, securing the oceanfront property without hesitation.

The mansion holds deep personal significance for the mega pop star, serving as the inspiration for her 2020 track “The Last Great American Dynasty.”

The song tells the story of Rebekah Harkness, the estate’s previous owner. Harkness, a wealthy socialite and composer known for her headline-making lifestyle, passed away in 1982 at the age of 67. She was often surrounded by controversy, which Swift felt a personal connection to.

In a 2020 interview with Rolling Stone, Swift reflected on that bond, saying, “Her name was Rebekah Harkness. And she lived in the house that I ended up buying in Rhode Island. That’s how I learned about her. But she was a woman who was very, very talked about, and everything she did was scandalous. I found a connection in that.”

During a recent appearance on “The Stephen A. Smith Show” ahead of the Chiefs’ playoff matchup against the Houston Texans, Kelce opened up about why he and Swift continue to publicly support each other as their careers soar to new heights.

“I’m enjoying all aspects of life. Me and Taylor are happy,” the 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs star shared, adding: “I couldn’t be happier to have that confidence and that comfort off the field and all the support I could ever ask for in the stadium.”

When Smith asked if his relationship with Swift had enhanced his performance on the field, Kelce reflected on the impact of their connection.
