This Labyrinth Poster Is Destined to Rekindle Your Childhood Imagination

Anyone who has ever seen Labyrinth carries it with them. Maybe you saw it and the incredible artistry wowed and inspired you. Maybe you remember falling in love with Jennifer Connelly or David Bowie. Or maybe it scared the living crap out of you and you never watched it again. All of these and more are valid responses to the 1986 film from director Jim Henson and executive producer George Lucas.

And all that and more can be rekindled by this sumptuous new Labyrinth poster by artist Kevin Wilson. Sarah, Hoggle, Ludo, Sir Didymus, they’re all here in an Easter egg-filled scene centered on storytelling. It’s a 24 x 36 inch screenprint in a run of 110 and it costs about $130. Here’s the full image.

Noticeably absent from this poster—while towering over the original one sheet by Ted Coconis—is Bowie’s Goblin King Jareth. We’re guessing that’s probably some sort of likeness rights issue, though. The legacies of massive stars, especially musicians, are very precious about that.

Even without Jareth though, Wilson’s poster has a warm feeling of being told a bedtime story full of wondrous creatures and exciting adventure. That he does so with so many characters and winks at the movie just makes it that much better. You can grab one of the posters over at this website.
