Marcus Rashford has rebuffed reports that claimed he met with a leading sports agency in a bid to help push through a move away from Manchester United this month, calling them “ridiculous”.
Several outlets had reported that the 27-year-old forward had held talks with Stellar, the same agency that helped facilitate Gareth Bale’s £86million move to Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.
Rashford is currently represented by his brother, Dwaine Maynard, but the reports claimed he was willing to join Stellar to help secure a move.
However, the England player responded to the speculation in an Instagram post: “Been a lot of false stories written over the past few weeks, but guys this is getting ridiculous – never met with any agency and don’t have any plans to.”

Uncertainty over Rashford’s future at Old Trafford has been growing after he told journalist Henry Winter in an interview last month he was ready “for a new challenge”.
The forward had been absent from four successive matchday squads after being dropped for the Manchester derby by Ruben Amorim, but he returned to the squad as an unused substitute for Monday’s 2-0 defeat by Newcastle.
However, the United boss insisted after the game that there was no ulterior motive for leaving Rashford on the bench.
“I think about the team,” Amorim said. “You think a lot about Marcus. I think about the team. When I’m there I’m not making a point. I just want to win the game.
“And you can feel it, I’m talking about the idea and the fight for relegation. Do I want to make a point during a game? No, I just want to win the game.”
