Real Madrid stars Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe are optimistic about a goal-filled 2025 ahead, having now had half a season to adapt to each other’s game.
Mbappe didn’t arrive in Madrid in peak physical fitness after barely a rest following Euro 2024 and has only recently started to hit his stride in the famous all-white strip.
The Frenchman admitted it was a missed penalty in early December’s defeat to Athletic Club, his rock bottom moment, which provided the catalyst he needed to turn things around.
Vini was generally in decent form but missed a number of games in December due to injury.
Madrid are just one point behind La Liga leaders Atletico, with both capital sides overtaking a stumbling Barcelona, and everything is to play for as long as things are clicking in the team.
“Kylian is a great player and a great person. It’s very easy to play with him. He’s going to score a lot of goals for all the Madridistas. This is just the beginning,” Vini remarked as the pair appeared together on the club’s in-house media channel.
Mbappe made similar statements, talking positively about what is to come.
“We can score many more and we are going to do so. I had to adapt to a new team and the dressing room has helped me a lot. I thank them all,” the former Paris Saint-Germain talisman said.
“What I admire most about Vini? His humility, without a doubt.
“Everyone knows the player and sees the quality he has every three days. This year he has won many collective titles and individual awards, but I highlight his humility. He is always on good terms with people in the dressing room and I like that a lot.”
