Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli was discharged from Akruti Hospital in Thane district on January 1, 2025. After battling a urinary infection and severe cramps for nearly two weeks, doctors discovered clots in his brain, making his recovery even more remarkable.
As he left the hospital, Kambli sported the iconic Indian jersey, a nod to his cricketing roots. Addressing the waiting media, he shared a heartfelt message, urging people to avoid alcohol and narcotic drugs.
“Enjoy life, don’t drink alcohol,” Kambli said, with renewed energy in his voice.
A Lively Press Conference at the Exit
Before leaving, Kambli held a short press conference where his humor and resilience shone.
“This doctor (Thakur) made me fit. I said I’d leave only when I was ready,” Kambli joked. Reflecting on his recovery journey, he added, “I ‘hit’ only fours and sixes here at the hospital!”
He also expressed his determination to return to cricket, promising, “I’ll show people at Shivaji Park that I, Vinod Kambli, will not leave cricket.”
