Former India opener Virender Sehwag and his wife, Aarti Ahlawat’s relationship has hit the rock bottom, according to reports. They are set to separate after their 20 years of marriage.
Things are not looking too rosy between the two at the moment. The couple have unfollowed each other on Instagram, suggesting a big crack in the relationship. According to those close to the family, Virender Sehwag and Aarti have been living separately for several months. A report in the Hindustan Times suggests that a divorce is likely on the cards for the couple who tied the knot in 2004.

The former batsman and Aarti are parents to two sons – Aryavir, born in 2007, and Vedant, born in 2010. The murmur of their relationship becoming sour has been doing the rounds for quite some time. Last year, the fans were quick to notice that Virender Sehwag shared Diwali photos with his sons and his mother on social media but omitted any mention or pictures of his wife.
A couple of weeks ago, Virender Sehwag visited the Vishwa Nagayakshi Temple in Palakkad. He updated the fans about his visit by sharing photos on his Instagram account. Even in those photos, there was no mention of Aarti.

Virender Sehwag and Aarti’s love story began in early 2000s. Just like the former India opener, Aarti is also from New Delhi. She pursued her education at Lady Irwin Secondary School and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. After completing her schooling, Aarti did a diploma in Computer Science from Maitreyi College, Delhi University.
In 2004, Sehwag and Aarti tied the knot in a grand wedding that took place at the residence of former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in 2004. For the last 20 years, Sehwag and Aarti have managed to keep their family life private. However, their relationship has now become the talk of the town.
Talking about Sehwag’s cricket career, he is widely regarded as one of India’s best openers of all time. Known for his aggressive batting, Sehwag made a name for himself with his swashbuckling batting. He was an integral member of the Indian team across formats for more than a decade.
Sehwag was a key member of the Indian team that won the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup. He played 104 Tests for India, scoring 8586 runs at an average of close to 50. He hit 23 centuries and 32 half-centuries. The first Indian to hit a triple century in Tests, Sehwag hit two triple centuries in the longest format of the game.

In ODIs, he played 251 games and scored 8273 runs with 15 tons and 38 fifties. He also played 19 T20Is and scored close to 400 runs. Sehwag brought down curtains on his illustrious playing career in 2015. In the IPL, he plied his trade for Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings.
