India National Cricket Team all-rounder Washington Sundar was unhappy with the way he got out in the ongoing game against the Australia National Cricket Team. The fifth game of the series between the teams is taking place at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.
India National Cricket Team all-rounder Washington Sundar fought hard for his team with the bat in the ongoing game. With the Team losing wickets quickly, the left-hander tried to up the ante and hit some boundaries to take his team to the fighting total on the board.
Washington Sundar looked good with the bat but his stay at the crease was cut short by the controversial dismissal. The India National Cricket Team all-rounder was removed by Australia National Cricket Team skipper Pat Cummins, who at first had no intention of taking the DRS.
Pat Cummins bowled a short ball that was angled down the leg side. Washington Sundar attempted to play the pull but missed it. Alex Carey behind the stumps appealed for a catch and convinced the skipper to take the DRS, but the captain at first didn’t seem to be confident.
The third umpire checked the decision, and there was a tiny spike when the ball was next to the glove. But telly umpire Joel Wilson said that there was a gap on the bottom of the glove. After that, he asked for a side-on replay and then the slow-mo replays.
However, he couldn’t get the accurate thing and said: “Ball is very close to the glove and I cannot differntiate any gap between glove and ball and there is a spike as well as the ball got closer to the glove.” The on-field umpire was then ordered to overturn the decision, and Washington Sundar had to walk back.
Washington Sundar, however, looked extremely dejected with the way he was given out. He was clearly unhappy and walked with his head down.
