Hayden Walsh Jnr and Jewel Andrew dropped

The Bangladesh tour of West Indies 2024 consists of a two-match Test series, a three-match ODI series, and a three-match T20I series. The Men In Maroon dominantly won the first Test and the second match is currently underway.

After the red-ball matches, the teams will be taking on each other in ODIs on December 8, 10, and 12 at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts & Nevis.

Cricket West Indies has made two changes to the ODI squad from the previous series against England where West Indies National Cricket Team beat England National Cricket Team by 2-1.

Hayden Walsh Jnr and Jewel Andrew have been dropped and replaced by all-rounder Justin Greaves and wicketkeeper-batter Amir Jangoo. Andrew has been left out because he will be travelling to India for a batting camp at the Chennai Academy.

Meanwhile, Justin Greaves impressed the selectors with his stunning performance in the CG United Super50 competition and Jangoo did a great job in the Super50 to earn a selection.

We continue to build towards the main target of the ICC Men’s 50-over World Cup – Daren Sammy

In an official statement released by CWI, head coach Daren Sammy said that they are building a squad with the next ICC Men’s 50-over World Cup in mind. He said:

“We continue to build towards the main target of the ICC Men’s 50-over World Cup where we are looking to broaden the pool of players even with the short-term objectives of winning series, especially at home and building momentum on the recent win against England.”

Sammy further talked about the selections of Justin Greaves and Amir Jangoo and said:

“Greaves is capable of batting anywhere in the top six and brings that genuine all-round ability to the squad, which is welcomed at this stage, while Jangoo’s prowess in the CG United Super50 shows his flexibility to bring another dimension to our batting unit.”

Talking further about the ODI squad, it features star players like Sherfane Rutherford, Jayden Seales, Romario Shepherd, Shimron Hetmyer, Alzarri Joseph, and Evin Lewis. The power-packed squad would be aiming to crush the Bangladesh National Cricket Team on the home soil and continue their ODI series winning streak.
